So excited to visit. I visited Tokyo last year and fell in love so I'm going again in a couple of months. This time I am also going to Osaka.
I want to go visit Japan but I think I might go visit there in 2026.
Thanks for the information 👍🏻 I plan to visit Japan again

Here is my impression from my recent osaka visit from 4/17 to4/21/25. I stayed at the hotel Kikko Osaka, right across from the Daimarau Department along the White Avenue, half a mile from the Donto Dori district. It was a wonderful place daytime for street shopping and people watching. Early morning before Daimarau opening, lots of visitors line up before the 18 floor building for entrance. Evening in the Donton Dori area is crowded with lots of people within 500 meter stretch along a narrow and brownish water way. Taxi driver would not go into that area, walking is the best for a visit. The Osak Expo was on and Nikko hotel was full, even its staff did not know the reason a Green Sausi national flag with flying beside a Japa Nation flag in front of the hotel. I only managed to visit the Osaka Castle, Aquarium, and Donton Dori. I admire the Workers /mostly noon Japanese national to endure the working load in business district there. This was my second visit of Osaka in last two years. My impression was that the area was a modern business district, not much of Japanese culture existence. Most of the YouTube posts were too much commercialized to take for granted. The Osaka Castle was a bright star for the exhibition of the history in Tokugawa/Toyoeyshu era! My experience of "Japanese Culture" did not exist around the area of the "White Tower". It looked like the Building of Hunter College in Midtown New Tork city. Taxi drivers were mostly senior and retiree, they are very polite and keep the taxi spotless inside and outside. They did have very harsh comments about visitors from major Asian countries! I got similar feeling as an Asian too!
My beautiful country has so much to offer when it comes to tourism, and it's never boring.

The people eat until they drop? Drop from what? Certainly not from heart attack caused by gluttony that leads to obesity.
"The Manchester of Asia"
As someone from England…. this sounds like an insult to Osaka haha.
Went to Dotonbori in the 80s and revisited in 2006
First time I went, some tall blonde kid was stealing people's pants and got beaten up by a local cabaret manager.
Second time, everyone was crowded around this giant screen because a building in Tokyo had blown up.
Would guys who have been recommend Osaka over Tokyo?
Tokyo looks a bit intense
Ive been studying Japanese for almost 3 years now literally so I can go to Osaka before my twenties!
Japan is so unique.
Oh, what, Japan's kitchen lots of food and anime/manga like I thought it's just in Tokyo and Universal there, I thought it be Tokyo it's in or in Chiba like Tokyo Disney, I just thought Osaka there has a harsh or loud Japanese kansai accent which sounds like yelling to me or scratchy kind of accent while I was use to the actual accent of Tokyo.

I live in Osaka..It is a shithole. serious lack of greenspace, not clean, over crowded, people here are very rude compared to other parts of Japan. I don't even recommend you visit Osaka. Not worth it. Better in Tokyo.
For Koreans, Kansai area is the most famous cities for travel. I've been to Tokyo and Kyushu but never been to Osaka. I wish I go there
My favorite youtube channel 🥰😍

We break it all down in our weekly podcast and youtube channel! would love to get some expedia members in for an interview soon!
