we visited madrid last may. 3 days the first stay and 5 days the next. we wandered aimlessly preety much and we saw everyhting that we wanted to see…by accident; just like in rome. loved madrid except for the crowds and the 95 degree heat! glad we visited madrid and explored it on our own ( except for our first day; we did pay for a tour of the palace, and it was worth it…except for the " oceans of people " as our great guide said of the walls of tourists…
