Booked a car rental through Expedia, with "pay at pick-up". When we picked up the car , we were charged more than double the total price quoted by Expedia. Even with the additional liability insurance, still doesn't make sense. Bottom line, I won't book car rentals through Expedia again.

I used Expedia to book an Air Canada flight from Boston to Athens. I got a good price and booking was simple.
Although Air Canada went on strike, my flight remained on time. When I called Expedia for assistance with online check-in, the Customer Service rep told me my flight was on standby and that I owed them an additional $898 in order to confirm my seat on the plane. I already had my seat confirmation. I already had a receipt from Expedia that I was paid in full, and I found it hard to believe that this representative used the strike as a way to use fear mongering tactics in an attempt to extract more money from me! It was a fraudulent attempt to steal my money and my credit card information
He also tried to convince me to buy another ticket for three times the price with a different airline in order to ensure that I would get to Athens in the event my flight was canceled.
I found these tactics to be outrageously deceptive.

As it turns out, I did not pay any extra money for a seat. I did not purchase another flight. In fact, I hung up on the representative.

The following day, Air Canada reached out to let me know that my flight had been canceled and they put me on another flight with Aer Lingus at NO additional charge .

I actually got to Athens an hour earlier than my original flight was scheduled to arrive.
To heck with Expedia! I will never use them again.

We were a couple months out from our vacation but needed to reschedule the dates. My friend was completely scammed by the first customer service person who added almost 3K for us to change flights and resort dates—same number of days, same resort, same days of the week, not busy travel days. They said it was due to having to upgrade the two rooms we booked bc the discount rooms were sold out. We were also charged a $100/pp fee for changing dates. When he called right back to cancel all of it so we could just rebook with the upgraded room for thousands less on their own site, they said he could only get “credits” to his Expedia account—not a refund to the credit card—for the airfare part of the package deal. We could only use that credit for the same airline and it was only good for 1 year. Soooo be afraid
be very afraid. 😉 We will not use them again. On the phone for three hours trying to sort this out and still waiting for some of the resort refund.

DO NOT USE EXPEDIA. If things go wrong, they simply keep your money. You could save a couple of dollars in a trip but if that trip goes wrong, it will cost you hundreds and a ruined trip. DON'T USE THEM.

Used Expedia last week and was inundated with emails and texts for days from Them, the hotel and VRBO. All asking for signatures snd additional charges. What a shit show. I cancelled.
