I’m Mexican-American, going to visit Spain for the first time in a couple months. One of the destinations will be a small town with my last name. I wonder if I have any ancestors from there or if it’s just a coincidence…I also wonder how people from Spain view Mexicans?

You need to go to Zaragoza. I have been to all the others, but was blown away by Zaragoza. Wonderful history of Caesar Augustus. All on a level and the wonderful Monasterio de Piedra! Take a look and be amazed.
I know Spain well and I'm astounded that lovely Malaga isn't on the list. In a different class to Cordoba, for example.

9 out of 10 in the list are cities. Aren’t there nice places to visit away from the congestion that offer a beautiful landscape? Im trying to plan a vacation and wanted to mix in some quite countryside landscapes.

Spalin has incredible, breathtaking architecture and beautiful art & culture, not to mention the people.. but calling its landscapes diverse is a slight overstatement. Spain is mostly flat, dry, raw and monotonous. Only north and Islands are green and diverse. 2/3 of country is deserted.
