Had the privilege of living in Budapest. Easily a top 5 city in Europe. Great food, nightlife, architecture, people & history. Plus, it’s a fraction of the cost of other major cities in Europe. Highly recommend everyone visits!

Just back from Central Europe, including three days in Budapest. It truly is a spectacular city. A highlight was a dinner cruise on the Danube. Seeing all the illuminated buildings and bridges after dark was remarkable. The Parliament, in particular, is a sight to behold. Go! A great destination.

The Budapest Yellow Tram is a scam. The driver will tell you that you can pay cash for tickets on the tram, but the conductor only checks the tickets. If you don't buy a ticket in advance, they will urgently ask you to pay the fine immediately. The fine can be paid in cash for $35.
