The most spectacular place i have ever been! Every meal i had was amazing! The people so lovely! The beautiful homes built into hill sides and cliffs with such lush gardens and grape vines! The Madeira 10yr sweet with honey cake will become an addiction! It can only be described as paradise

We live on Madeira Island for over 2 years and are absolutely in love with the Island.
Madeirans are very far from a progressive, tolerant society and are very attached to an old, very backwards, uneducated way of living but the island has great infrastructure, absurd natural beauty and much dignity. It's diametrically opposite to mainland Portugal.
