If you want to get outside the city, this place fills up quickly, but check out The Accidental Tourist for some pasta classes, wine tours, and overnights in the Tuscan hills.
Florentine steak and great local dishes are all around, but my fave spots are definitely @ituscani and @osteriadelcinghialebianco … the Florentine steak meatballs at I'Tuscani are a TOP 3 dish in the city. Amazing. Vin Santo is an awesome local dessert, and pappa al pomodoro is a nice local tomato soup.
And if you insist on Antico Vinaio, the train station serves the same sandwiches without a line. But truly EVERY shop I've been to has been amazing. It's much more about ordering the right sandwich than choosing the right restaurant. I recommend stracciatella as a topping.

Aight so u just finnished school, the bus is comeing in 40 minutes bc yes and u kinda want to eat, so you and ur friends go to this random ahh bar, buy a random ahh sandwich, you go and sit on the curb with your friends and eat there, best in the world.

Florence famously has the worst standard (not schiacciata or other foccacia) bread in Italy because it has no salt. It is tasteless and boring. It is roundly and properly mocked by the rest of Italy.

You also need to try the lampredotto sandwich, you can find a few stands selling it in the central market but the best one is near the famous boar statue

I was born and currently live in Florence. You should also have "CROSTINI DI FEGATINI". Also ice-cream was invented in Florence so you should definitely try that, but not in the center 'cause it's expensive (for tourists) and not good. If you can't move from the center try gelateria 'La Carraia' that place makes quite good gelato.
One thing to do on Florence as a florentine: don't come. It's one of the most overcrowded cities in the world and considering that every street or square is much smaller than usual, you end up with too many people in a city that cant handle it. Any public service included. Transports, hospitals, restaurants, everything has an infinite queue because of this
